Working alongside FIFA and utilizing the Independent Football Reform Commission Report and Recommendations presented to President Raymond Tim Kee and CONCACAF President, Jeff Webb in April 2014, Tim Kee has committed to supporting a constitutional overhaul centered on the principle of “One Club, One Vote” for the national body.

This will be the central focus as this week will mark the culmination of work of the IFRC as FIFA and CONCACAF representatives, Reudi Broennimann, Primo Corvaro, and Marco Leal will join President Tim Kee and selected local representatives to serve on the Constitutional Reform Panel to begin work on the new TTFA Constitution that will be presented to the TTFA Executive Committee, members and stakeholders for national review and ratification. The ratification process and several other areas of concern cited by FIFA will also result in the delay in TTFA elections until after June 15, 2015. However, regional zone elections will take place as originally scheduled.

Trinidad and Tobago’s National Under 17 Men’s team will have it all to do when they face off with Barbados tomorrow from 5pm after suffering a 2-0 defeat to St Lucia in their opening match of the Caribbean Under 17 Finals at the Silvia Cator Stadium,  Port-Au-Prince on Sunday evening.

T&T conceded goals on either side of the half with Noah Nicholas putting St Lucia ahead in the 25th minute and furthering the lead in the 53rd. T&T missed a chance to level the scores when skipper Kareem Riley missed a penalty as his effort hit the upright before the break.

St Lucia’s second goal appeared doubtful when T&T goalkeeper Enrique Changiah was toppled over by a St Lucian but  referee Dwight Royal allowed play to continue, presenting Nicholas with the opportunity to tap the ball into an unprotected net.

The past two days have been all about recovery for this country’s senior women’s footballers. And the possible effects of that will be known on Monday evening when they square off with Guatemala in their final Group encounter at the CONCACAF Finals in Washington.  Overworked or not, T&T intends to do whatever is necessary to progress.

Needing only a draw to assure themselves of a place in the semi-finals, barring a Haiti win over the United States, skipper Maylee Attin-Johnson and her teammates know they have everything to play for.

And Head coach Randy Waldrum believes his team can finish the job.

Trinidad and Tobago captain Maylee Attin-Johnson was elated with this country’s 1-0 victory over Haiti on Friday night but wasn’t too pleased with the performance of the team and she expects better when they face Guatemala in Monday’s closing Group encounter in Washington.

Needing just a draw to advance to the knockout stage after Kennya Cordner’s 37th minute goal gave T&T three points in Illinois, T&T will be without custodian Kimika Forbes who was ejected in the second half against the Haitians. But T&T gave it their all on the night to earn the win which was followed by United States’ 5-0 whipping of Guatemala.

“It was one of the worst performances we have had as a team,” Attin-Johnson told TTFA Media after the win.
