    Juventus moved closer to clinching a fourth straight Serie A title by beating nearest challengers Lazio 2-0 in Turin, while Sampdoria were held to a goalless draw by Cesena but moved into fifth place.

NATIONAL U-17 WOMEN'S TEAM PROGRAM TAKES SHAPE

National Women’s Under 17 team head coach Rajesh Latchoo says that the preparations for the 2016 FIFA Under 17 World Cup qualification is beginning to take shape.

Latchoo has been overseeing the team’s preparations since last October, conducting training sessions three days weekly at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva

The squad includes players who have graduated from the past Under 15 Women’s team that finished a commendable third at the 2014 CONCACAF Under 15 Championship in the Cayman Islands last August. T&T were edged 1-0 by regional giants Canada 1-0 in the semi final before  thumping Honduras 5-2 in the third place playoff.

SOCA WARRIORS RANKED CARIBBEAN NUMBER ONE TEAM

The Trinidad and Tobago’s Senior Men’s team will aiming to live up to all expectations on the field and on paper at the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July after being rated as the number one ranked team in the Caribbean for this month despite its recent 1-0 loss to Panama at the Ato Boldon Stadium.

The “Soca Warriors” coached by Stephen Hart was ranked 65th in the world by FIFA, top in the Caribbean ahead of Jamaica (75th), Haiti (79th) and Antigua/Barbuda (106th).

MOLINO STAYS GROUNDED AFTER KAKA'S RECOMMENDATION

Trinidad and Tobago midfielder Kevin Molino is keeping his feet on the ground and his head out of the skies days after receiving a recommendation from Brazilian star Kaka as a good pick for Italian club AC Milan.

Kaka’s comments received widespread coverage in the media as he was recorded as saying in an interview with the Italian magazine Gazzetta dello Sport, “Kevin Molino, he’s from Trinidad, a good forward. He must grow and learn, but he could do well.”

TTFA COMPLETES YOUTH CLINICS IN THREE ZONES

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association recently hosted three youth football clinics in which twenty-five Primary Schools and coaching schools benefitted from the exercise and each received footballs to assist their development programs.

The TTFA, with its youth coaches, conducted three-hour sessions at the Nelson Mandela Park (formerly King George V Park) in Port of Spain the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar and the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella. Scotiabank Foundation and Lifestyle Motors partnered with the TTFA for the clinics.

Former a National Senior team captain Angus Eve oversaw the first session in Port of Spain at which youngsters from Boissiere Village RC, Carenage Role Models,St Agnes RC, Maraval RC, La Seiva RC, Mucurapo Boys RC, Mucurapo Girls RC, Debe/Bell View/Dundonald Hill Sports club and Step by Step, engaged in the three-hour clinic.

Eve said he was quite pleased with the response of the kids and the effort of the FA to provide the opportunity for the participants. PHOTO GALLERY
