Midfielder Leslie Fitzpatrick, in an attempt to get his professional career back on stream has signed with American A-League club Rochester Rhinos.
Club President and General Manager Matthew Ford announced today that club has added midfielders Ze Roberto, Luke Kreamalmeyer an Fitzpatrick to its roster for the 2008 season. All contracts are subject to USL and USSF approval.
"In an effort to bolster our midfield, we have selected three players with a wealth of experience, in both the MLS and USL, and we're excited to have Tiger, Luke and Ze join the Rhinos," said Ford.
Fitzpatrick will wear the Rhinos uniform 2008 after going through a rough period in the T&t Pro League last season plagued by injury.
Fitzpatrick played with the then A-League's Cincinnati Riverhawks (2002-03) and Atlanta Silverbacks (2004).
His most impressive season of professional soccer came in 2005, signing with Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer. The 5-foot-6, 160-pound midfielder played 716 minutes, recording two assists in all 18 games with Salt Lake. Meantime, current national team defender Kern Cupid returned to Trinidad on Tuesday following his trial with Charleston Battery. Word is that following the passing of the transfer deadline, Battery were not prepared to offer Cupid a loan-deal which forced his return home. (April 8, 2008)
