Needing to prove himself once more to the Kansas Wizards coaching staff, striker Scott Sealy did just that when he came off the bench to score the winner in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Colorado Rapids in the American MLS. Sealy was introduced in the 68th minute and grabbed the game winner three minutes from full time to the delight of head coach Curt Onalfo. "To come off the bench is tough, but it's a team effort,” Sealy said after the game And if coming into games is what Coach [Curt Onalfo] wants me to do right now, then that's what I'm going to do," said Sealy after the match. "I going to bring the energy coming off the bench, try and get my goals if I can, and help the team win." All Sealy was doing was what Onalfo, expected of him. "We talked to him about how it was important for him to come in and do the things he did," said Onalfo. "I was very proud of his effort." Sealy's desire to be on the field is always there even though injuries have affected his progress. "In the preseason, I was not going 100 percent because I was very cautious of the injuries I had last year, basically trying to protect myself so I could be here for the long haul and playing every game," said the 26-year-old.. "It's been tough, but that's professional sports. I just have to live with it." |
