SCOTLAND NAMED ON PFA 'TEAM OF THE YEAR' Print E-mail

For his 29 goals which propelled Swansea City into the English Championship Division next season, striker Jason Scotland was rewarded with a pick on the League One "Team of the Year" on Sunday night.

 Swansea City had five players confirmed in the PFA's League One Team of the Year at an awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The former  Defence Force  marksman is expected in Trinidad  soon after a long season with his club.

 

Footballers from the Premiership through to League Two gathered to pay tribute to the stars of the season with Angel Rangel, Garry Monk, Ferrie Bodde, Andy Robinson and Scotland voted into the League One XI by their fellow professionals.


Scotland along with teammates Dennis Lawrence and Kevin Austin, enjoyed League One title success last week and will look ahead to life in the Championship next season.

Scotland's agent Mike Berry said the player deserved every bit of rewards for his efforts.

"Jason has been a real gem for Swansea this season and his selection on the PFA team of the year is just reward for his efforts," Berry said. "He has kept the T&T flag flying very high and the same goes for Dennis as well. I think they will be a force in the Championship next season and the fans are loving the success at the moment."
