CAPELLO TO NAME CAPTAIN TOMORROW Print E-mail

England head coach Fabio Capello will announce the captain for Sunday's match against Trinidad and Tobago at a press conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel just after midday on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday, Capello conducted his first session in Trinidad at the Hasely Crawford Stadium under bright sunshine as close to 4,000 T&T fans got a chance to see some of their favourite players in the flesh.

Later on Friday, some of  the England stars will join Capello in conducting a coaching clinic with 80 youngsters at the Marvin Lee Stadium on Friday from 6pm.

Seven players involved in last week's Champions League final have been excused from the trip.

Coach Fabio Capello confirmed that of the men involved in Moscow last week, only  Ferdinand and Chelsea full-back Wayne Bridge, who did not get onto the pitch at the Luzhniki Stadium, will be part of his 20-man squad for the final game of the season. Chelsea's John Terry, who opened the scoring in Wednesday night's 2-0 win over the United States at Wembley, is one of those given an early holiday along with Wayne Rooney, Owen Hargreaves, Wes Brown, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole.
