Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia has hinted that his club will not consider a £5million bid for the Trinidad & Tobago international strike Kenwyne Jones, insisting that they will not sell ay of their start players. "We have got a big squad - we have got something like 37 pros," Sbragia said on Wednesday. "We have a big squad, so it is very difficult to manage and keep them all happy. But the one thing we don't want to do is get rid of our better players. Meantime, Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse believes his partnership with Jones will click in their away matches and has urged fans to believe in them as they try to spur the “Black Cats” up the Premiership table. . The duo have impressed in manager Ricky Sbragia's system during home games but Cisse admitted they can improve on their link-up play in away games. "We seem to score goals and play better home than away, it's coming on though," he told BBC Radio Newcastle. "We still have time and need to know each other better." And the French international was delighted to see Carlos Edwards catching back good form on the flanks. "He's the kind of player who can bring skills on the wing and good crosses," he said. "After that I don't know how the manager is going to pick the team but with Carlos, and Pascal not usually in the team and doing great, it's going to be hard for Ricky [Sbragia]." |
